The vacuum switch on the right is OEM #14007803. The coolant switch from NAPA is TS10075, the pig tail wiring from NAPA is TSC200.

With no vacuum applied, the valve is in the open position. In the open position, the pivot pin where the rod goes to should be facing the firewall. In your picture this looks to be open.

Any opinions on the Pioneer brand flexplate? Looks to be the most common I've seen around. Car is a stock 86 Firebird, 305 carb auto. Don't need anything but a stock type replacement.

Yea, the flux can be removed very easy. Just lay the rod down on a concrete block, a board etc., and tap on it with a hammer. The flux will break away.

Actually the inside was fairly clean, considering the carb has been in use for over 20 years with long periods of not driving vehicle. There was some "powder" on the walls and around the brass seats....

I refer to them as a ported vacuum switch: the one on the thermostat housing I found new at GM #14007803.
The one in the intake manifold was a lot harder. Every one I ordered...
