If the bushings are worn enough it can prevent the caliper from returning to the neutral resting position. That might account for the squeaking because it could be holding the pads against the rotor...

When those bushings are worn, the whole caliper is able to rock back and forth just enough. It is the contact at then end of that play that creates the click. I lived with that noise for far too...

If you have the stock style brakes in the front, you might want to replace the caliper slider bushings, and the rubber o-rings that ride on those bushings. I had a similar problem on my 92 before...

Have tried running the pump without any of the hose connected to it? That way you can determine if the pump is the problem or if the problem is somewhere in the hoses.
