Gen 4 Aluminum Driveshaft on Gen 3?
Can a Gen 4 Aluminum Driveshaft be used on a Gen 3 T-5? Is the yoke different? Length different? The U-Joint has the same part number for both Gen 3 & 4 so if the yoke is different, can the yoke from the Gen 3 be installed on the Gen 4 driveshaft? Talking with Lingenfelter, they sell an aluminum driveshaft for a 1990-2002 Camaro. They claim there is a difference before 1990, although unfortunately the person did not know off hand what that difference was. Knowledgeable insight would be appreciated.

I don't see why it wouldn't work it's a 26 spline output shaft and I believe it's the same length. I had a stock 4th gen DS in my car for a little bit tell my first launch at the track shredded it to pieces. They are known to be kind of weak as I found out later... Make sure you get something aftermarket.

I have been running an aluminum drive shaft in my '92 that I pulled from a 4th gen. Five years so far and no problems.
