Check the PN on those Vogtland springs. The 4th gen springs are a little longer and you may have gotten those.

Maybe the wrong year? I did mine awhile back and don't Rember having to stretch to fit, I think it lined up good. It did want to pull back on the front of door where it curves to fit the hinges.

I do not believe so, at least you will not see 12volts. That 4 wire plug coming from the firewall originates from the ECM under the dash. The ECM controls the spark advance and those are signal wires...

IIRC these work on wax melting to somehow complete the ground circut of the fan. Not sure if there is a resistor test for that. You should be able to test it by turning the ignition on so that pass...
