TC Remanufacturing Touque Converters
Anyone ever use these from Rock Auto? I am thinking on swapping out my 1375 stall for this 2075 stall. I don't want to spend alot on a high dollar or race built TC as this is a cruiser that I drive a little hard @ times.

Just bought a 2000-2200 stall converter from Total Transmissions out of Chicago. Seems to be doing great and it ran about the same price as the one you are looking at. I had heard from other people firsthand that have used them and had good luck so I went with them. Mine seems to stall a lil under advertised @ maybe 1950-2000 but sometimes they do loosen up a bit once broke in.. Im happy with it for under $250

Thanks bud.
Is this the one you got from them? I do have the lock up on my 700r4.

Re: TC Remanufacturing Touque Converters
Disclaimer: I have no experience WHATSOEVER with this brand; never even heard of it.
With that out of the way, Rock Auto isn't dumb. They wouldn't carry something for very long if it caused problems. Comebacks, complaints, etc. would lead them to seek elsewhere real quick. Same as the house-brand stuff at Summit, Jeg's, etc.; whether any of it is "the best" or not, at the very least, it causes few problems, or at least, only manageable ones. I'd say, for yerbasic stock replacement anyway, they're a decent enough risk.

RockAuto is SO dumb I stopped ordering anything from them years ago. And because they don't have a real customer service department they don't care at all about "comebacks, complaints". This is actually the dumbest part of their whole business.
So again, not trying to turn this whole thread, just do NOT assume RockAuto carries anything quality that you can't get through a better vendor, and understand that if you order from them you may be stuck with some garbage they sent you that doesn't even fit your car.
I personally would go with another part/vendor recommended by other users with actual real life experience (like maybe the one recommended by dmccain).

Re: TC Remanufacturing Touque Converters
Nobody said anything about "assume RockAuto carries anything quality", that I noticed. Someone DID however say something like "for yerbasic stock replacement anyway, they're a decent enough risk". That's NOT EVEN the same thing, or even very close. Don't keyboard-warrior twisted meanings that are whatever concept you'd like to make yourself feel all superior by attacking, into somebody else's mouth. It's election season, there's already enough of that going on all around us.

If we were driving 500hp cars here id go for a name brand for sure. For sub 300hp cars these reman higher stall converters have worked fine for me and other friends of mine in the past. I ran multiple S10 T/C for years in several of these cars behind 700r-4s no problems. I went with this particular T/C from Total Transmission this time because of several people I personally know have used them in the past with zero issues and so far so good for me as well.

I really like the whole combo of the higher stall TC, a Corvette shift servo and the Sonax blue gear governor. I did these other parts at the same time. It takes off quicker, shifts faster and firmer and holds the gear longer when under acceleration. Of course it lites up the tires alot better and quicker!!

Re: TC Remanufacturing Touque Converters
Upon driving mine more with this converter ive realized it does flash around 2200= and footbrakes around 1900. Will absolutely light those tires up with the 350 engine!
