All personal preference. Both were original options from GM, so some people prefer to stick with what came on their car. I had rubber on mine from the factory but liked the plastic ones better...

Front ends are completely different, not interchangeable what so ever.
Rear end can be used, but is wider by 2", so tires may rub on wheel wells depending on what you have.

Correct! I know the fuel injected unit is 3-pin (ground, sending unit, fuel pump), but I'm not 100% on the 82-84 carb unit that did not have the helper pump. Thanks!

The wheel is still centered on the center of the old hub and studs. The hub/rotor hat flange width never played any role in centering the wheels; they just butted up against each other.

Just grab some of the 1" setback plates that various vendors sell. allows you to reuse the upper and lower mount pieces and puts the engine in the correct positioning for trans/driveshaft
