Re: rear backing plate swap

Was never a fan of that parking brake setup on the ls rear setups.
especially when the shoe material falls off. Un needed extra weight and parts to fail.

I bought the whole lift bar kit and only installed the subframe connectors. Still have them on the car, best ones ive ever installed.
actually have a set at the machine shop being copied now

Since you have a 90, look for a 87 an up roller cam block.
Don't fall for the high nickel 4bolt main 60-70s blocks are better bs

More like a small diff cover laying on the lid overthe runner entrances but open under it.
Maybe a spacer between the lid and plenum would help 🤔

So on a super ram, if you put, for lack of better term, a gurney bubble, in the lid above the 90deg turn down to runners, it may help the numbers? By softening the turn by increasing the radius?

I've noticed that the asm runner has the long straight at the bottom, and even the top has gotten longer than i remember from the early versions. I'd almost swear they used to be shorter, by 1.5-2"...

Larger line, less restriction.
if you're doing a show or 100% correct restoration that requires the line to be 1/4" then pursue that. Especially if your car is 82-84. After that, it could be larger...

Original pumps for serpentine setups don't have the ugly bypass boss on the top of the pump.
yes, the originals were painted with GMs cheap semigloss paint installed on the engine. behind the pumps...

They aren't polished, they are machined finished.
way to much was taken off.
It happened to a a set of 89 formula wheels of a friends and the company put decal in its place and cleared over it....

In late 91-2 you could get the 350/ttop on the formula 350 but the black diamond spoke wheels became mandatory to keep weights...
