Will my T5 bolt up to a 350 TPI

I have a 1990 305 RS I have a 5 speed manual and am not exactly sure if a 350 will bolt up to a t5 I want to engine swap but I want to keep the trans thats currently in it. If it does bolt up will the t5 handle a stock 350? Thanks

Yes. Depending on certain variations such as the 350's year model. (2-pc vs 1-pc rear mani seal, and as a consequence, the flywheel)

Maybe. Depends on how you drive it and how long you consider to be "holding up".

Im not super knowledgeable on what im looking for how can you tell the difference between the 2 and what one would fit a t5?

Both "fit" the T-5 exactly the same. "Fitting the T-5" isn't the potential issue.

The part that might be different will be the flywheel. Look at the rear main seal on the 350 you have. Count the pieces. If there's only 1 piece with a completely round flange on the crank for the flywheel, it's 86-up, and your flywheel will fit it. If there's 2 with a funky oddball shaped flange, you'll have to get a flywheel for 85-back. It will need to be a 12.8" one; 153 teeth on the ring gear.

I ran several T5's (or, one T5 rebuilt several times) behind a 305 CFI...we all know how powerful THOSE are! I broke that T5 over and over again. I even broke the shifter off of it once!
I ALSO, ran a T5 (just one), in the same car, behind a SBC 400, and ran it for years, drag-on a regular basis. 1 or two nights a week at our local track, all summer(s) long.

What was the diff?
1. The 400 had way more power and torque
2. I learned how to drive and be mature about it. By that, I mean, I learned the difference between just tooling the **** out of the trans (and car) -which accomplished nothing and inevitably broke something....and driving it FAST, w/o breaking parts. In all of the time behind the 400, with all those drag track passes, I broke 1, 3/4 shift fork.

Sofa is absolutly right. "Maybe". With a serving of 350 and a side of dumbassery, you could go out and trash that transmission in less than a week. Or you can drive/shift/lauch with judicious application of load on the trans and it could last for years.

Since you have a 90, look for a 87 an up roller cam block.
Don't fall for the high nickel 4bolt main 60-70s blocks are better bs
