Re: Won’t Start.

Id start by tracing power. Neutral safety switch (Automatic at the shifter, manual at the clutch pedal) and starter switch under the column(Not the key switch). No power to them? Then I'd be looking...

Re: Quadrajet replacement with AVS2 1903

I'm not particularly a fan of edelbrock carbs. Not the worst thing on the planet but leaves much to be desired when tuning. Personally, I'd be looking into a spreadbore Holley. I'm not a huge fan of...

Re: 280 mile 85 at auction

right there with you. Install a 140 speedo and drive it none? Or put a new odometer in and say it's that low of mileage? I'd say the later but I'm not claiming I'm correct.

Not exactly aftermarket. Though it is odd to change it and then not drive it.

Re: Order of Engine Upgrades? Heads, then Cam?

I'll repeat this. Again, if not you're going to upgrade, the 180s are a good match. This is a picture of the port match of the same parts(180 eliminators, HSR), untouched. But if you decide for more...

Re: Order of Engine Upgrades? Heads, then Cam?

If you're going to upgrade at any point, the 180s are a waste. More cubes and/or more rpm, just get the afr cnc 195s for the exact same price (at least they were, idk about now) as the cnc 180s. If...

Re: Order of Engine Upgrades? Heads, then Cam?

At 350ish ci, "lower" rpm range, I don't know if you'd see any difference. My disclaimer to that statement is that you never know without testing. I went with 180s and a HSR, port match is nearly...

Re: Obtained a new car today. 9 second daily driver accquired

Re: Original Quadrajet?

An 84 carb on an 86 engine was likely a swap. Not impossible but I doubt there was 84 castings still stocked for the assembly line 2 years later.

Re: Know where to find a NEW Q jet?

I've seen new qjets on Amazon. I'm sure they're off shore castings and builds based on the 200ish dollar price tags. Who knows what quality is on them but they're there.
