LG4 to LB9 Short Block Swap

LG4 to LB9 Short Block Swap
I could not find any info on this in particular, here is what I want to do. My LG4 (in an 86 caprice) has low comp in one cylinder. I want to do an overhaul but I rebuilt a TBI 350 last year and two bad sets of lifters so scared of flat tappets these days, I am not really that interested in increased performance just not interested in repeated tear downs due to faulty flat tappet parts.
I found an LB9 (from an 88 GTA) short block (block, crank, pistons, cam retainer and timing cover only), and I want to swap over the 416 heads, intake, etc from the LG4 to the LB9 block so I can go roller cam.
As far as I know all I will need is a new flexplate, cam and lifters, timing set, lifter hold down hardware, and different push rods due to length. Am I missing something, and should I just go retro roller in the original block instead?
I appreciate your help.

Re: LG4 to LB9 Short Block Swap
That 86 block should have been a 1pcs reat main so you might not even need the flexplate. I'd say it's cheaper and overall smarter to switch to roller block, retrofit will be higher cost. Honestly, see if you can find a good roller long block. You might stumble across a good running 350 or 305. The short block aspect of the LB9 is kinda a drawback. More work and money into zero upgrade.
