IM having the same problem with my autometer gauge, got a yellow and purple wire coming from the connector, I have the yellow ran to the sig and purple to ground, the gauge lights up and the hand...

kinda makes sense to me, the shock is mounted with a bolt that cant move at all when the rear end moves up and down, but this will enable the shock to pivot on the bolt, should work!
