hey guys, can someone tell me who has put 2010 Camaro ss brembos on a third gen? I got a full set of calipers for 180$, what a steal, I see a lot of different threads with different info, I would like to know exactly what I need to do to make the calipers and rotors fit? I have 18'' wheels links and info would be great, thanks

seen that, but some people say that we need 1LE rotors to get machined down? do we really need them? or can we use the regular ones? thanks

Following since I was considering putting the SS Camaro Brembo brakes on my thirdgen, although I'll likely have to pay a lot more than $180 for calipers. Man, what a good deal.

Even though you have 18" wheels - make 100% certain that they fit - some 18" wheels are clearance challenged.

Also - did you look into rotor pricing?

just talked to ED at www.flynbye.com! got him on the phone, great person to talk to, so now im going with his brackets! he assured me everything would fit, just got to figure out the hand brake? so ill tell you how I got them so cheap, a buddy told me he had seen a camaro ss that was in a accident, so I thought well ill call the salvage yard about the brakes, the guy on the counter must not have known what he was selling, and said how does 40 each sound!! lmfao I said yea that's not a bad price, so when i went to get them and they realized what they really were they were pissed, but already give me a quote of 40$ so that's what they had to give them to me for!! so now Im getting the rotors for a steal to! haha, I love it! ill post pics as i got but that will be another while so patients guys, thanks

Like stated above

Double check clearance for the 18in wheels you have and with the spoke

Also with the 1le hub and rotors it pushes front track about 0.6" or 15.24mm out
So checking wheel clearance with that in mind also especially if you need a slip spacer to clear brakes

any luck? if you get in contact with him and is gonna ship you the brackets right way. Order an extra set of the rear bracket for me ill pay you the money plus some more.

Im actually talking to scott about his kits now, just waiting for him to let me know when he has the rear brackets available, he said it shouldn't be to long! he is a lot easier to get in contact than anyone else, and he responds to my email very quick!

Are you planning to run an e-brake? If not, the rear brackets are quite basic. With e-brake is a bit more complicated.

Definitely call Scott at bigbrakeupgrade, very quick to respond and great with questions. I just bought a C6 setup from him. Tried for days to get someone from flynbye to answer, no luck there

I am Scotts guinea pig, well my '91 Camaro is my set of cts-v on the fronts was his very first set and also shown on his site. Also we just finished up prototyping the rear for cts-v calipers as well and let me tell you I have 18" vette wheels and its very very close on clearance not only on the wheel spokes but also on the barrel of the rim too. The rear rotors are actually larger in diameter then the fronts.

Scotts rear set up will be very nice, like as of any of this products. Keep an eye on his site for the new products and t-shirts too.

O and I got my rotors of the same car for 100$!! car was practically new when it got destroyed, so 280$ for the full set up! awesome hey, I drilled them my self, there was a little surface rust, so I sand blasted the rotors and zink painted them, just have to get them resurfaced, here thay are.

well I have an auto, so no park brake needed, however there is something in the works for you 5 and 6 speed guys too.

yea park brake is an issue for me, but Im going with a line lock, problem solved, and I dont figure it will be to long before scott got sommething figured out for a park brake, then ill buy what ever he has!

those are 18x9.5 I wanted to stay the same size on all 4 corners, due to the fact I wanted to able to rotate my tires. This car is built to drive and enjoy! Every day I can, nice weather only though. Thank you for all the great words!


edit: My calipers are factory CTS-V so they come silver painted and clear coated.

Not all 18 " wheels clear due to barrel design and face design as flat face wheels usually have clearance issues , unless it has a high pad offset or a small slip on can correct clearance if the clearance issue is with the face of the wheels

And I ask you where are you having your clearance issues on your wheels or pics will help to see

Yea it's the barrel the caliper is hitting, I got a wheel of a cobra mustang from a buddy and tried, it fits with lots of room to spare! So now I'm on the hunt for a similar wheel design, corvette wheels look like a good choice as well, but I would like something different, love your wheels

Take a look at CTW Motorsports 17" wheels, they will fit your brakes.

man that's awesome looking, how do the brakes feel? also what are you doing for a hand brake? I'm thinking about going with a line lock, at least there will be something holding my car, don't really want to depend on the trans to hold it in place, post some more pics! I'm going to show my full set up start to finish, almost done now, what spacers are you using for your wheels? thanks

on my set up, I ran 2" adapters with the GS wheels for the front, in the rear I used a 1/4 in spacers with longer wheel studs. However I also have a 4th gen rear end which is 2" wider on each side then a stock 3rd gen.

I have 1.75" spacers on the front, and .5" spacers on the rear with extended studs as well. I also have a 4th gen rear end so that helps. The setup feels great and my parking brake bolts up to the 4th gen rear just fine. Scott is working in the rear brakes for me now. Although today I came across a great deal on some 2012 CTSV front and rear calipers I will be switching to just for the badass look. Here is a pic of a Mach up I did today using the same brackets as the SS does. Only thing I want to do is powder coat them red I think. Can't wait to see yours!

Here is the set I got. They are 6 piston brembo a with 14.6 inch rotors in the front and 4 piston brembos with 14.4 rotors in the rear. Scott is currently working on the rears right now for me. Hope they get done soon, really can't wait to have a matching set!
