Just a heads up, many Autozones will loan A/C gauges, vacuum pumps and flush guns. I'm rebuilding my system and went that route. You pay the cost upfront but get it all back when you return them...

Your choke coil could be bad or sticking. My e4me would occasionally get stuck idling at 1500rpm and pop/diesel on shutdown because the choke coil wasn't unwinding far enough to click the carb off...

The engine seemed to run fine before I replaced the carb. It has about 177,000 miles on it, not sure what kind of work has been done to it over the years, as I bought it about a year ago with 174k....

Every website and the computer at O'riellys list it as the correct gasket for the carb, lines up almost exactly...

I think I went to go see that exact set awhile back and passed due to them being all rears, noticed tie rod scrapes on the inside edges. Yeah you'll need a spacer in front to get enough clearance.

It MUST be a 305 TPI /T5/ T-Top combo. L98 350 swap is ok if TPI and done neatly.

The only Sport Coupe that came from the factory with gfx was the 1988 SC, which was replaced in '89 by the RS. Your's must have been added by a previous owner or maybe the dealer.
