I took the heads to a local shop and had guide plates and screw in studs installed, then I put the heads on and adjusted the rockers. If I remember correctly, the rocker wasn’t just off to the side...

I picked this tool up and am very pleased with how easy it is to use. I'm measuring that most valves measure 7.050" and a few are closer to 7.025. I'd really like to stick with a single length...

Use the Hooker #16767 y-pipe, just cut the 2.5" merge end off and have a shop/welder replace it with a 3"pipe where they merge. Thats what I did.

I have a TPIS base on my 85 now which I ported when I installed it a few years ago. Now I'm considering removing it and doing 'touch-up' porting, since I'm seeing more about porting the TPI base...

Thanks 86LG4Bird. Even if the quality was top notch, the fact that the ratio is wrong suggests plenty. One or more tips coming off would be catstrophic, certainly not worth the saving over the Comps.
