A pretty cut and dry way to check for ignition/injector pulse from the pickup coil is to watch the tachometer during cranking. It should bounce or raise up off the peg, if it is completely still...

Vats doesn't stop the fuel pump from priming and running. Are you basing everything on not hearing the pump? Have you checked your fuel rail pressure? Do you have power at the relay?

Not sure about the corvettes, but the ground on the back of the passenger head is the ground used for the injectors. Our cars also have a 15 or 20 amp fuse next to the battery that is the ECM power...

Pump smoke in after the maf, anywhere smoke comes out is a vacuum leak. Check you tube for some homemade units or the guy that just puffs a cigar and blows in a vacuum line :)

Yeah, I'd check the injectors for sure and smoke test the intake.

If no codes I wouldn't bother with MAF or O2 yet, although I have seen dirty/degraded MAFs cause lean conditions without setting...
