Re: 1992 Camaro Z28 1LE Heritage (ZO3) registry

Yes, that is the car. I was never able to make contact again and he has probably passed away by now. I was able to locate his obituary and he passed in 2018.

Welcome to ThirdGen! I’m guessing that you posted on the wrong thread. This one has nothing to do with top speed.

Re: How do I find build date on build sheet?

You have a good amount of documentation which makes the car story much more interesting. How about posting some photos of the car? Hang on to the car and enjoy it!

Re: How do I find build date on build sheet?

Scott, I’ve never put a deposit on any Chevrolet or GMC I’ve purchased. I’ve had good enough relationships with the Dealers that I trusted them and they trusted me. I did pay a deposit on a couple...

Re: How much to offer - 87 TA

I have too many cars to find a different hobby. I just dislike seeing people buy a car in this condition and never getting it to a point where they can use it, drive it. If you like yard art, I’m...

And rusted out floors and wiring harness and all new interior and entire new fuel system. Nope……run, run, run and find a $15,000 car. You’ll be money ahead.

Walk away and find a better car. You will have thousands and thousands of dollars in this car and won’t be able to enjoy it for years.

Re: 1987 Z28 Value

I wouldn’t pay anywhere near the values you guys are talking. With 150,000 miles, it would have to be cheap for me to consider it.

Thanks guys! I knew about the runners and black valve covers, but never paid attention to the smooth plate.

JT, Ruben E. must have been too busy the day your car was built.:)

Tuned Port Injection Plate

I never noticed before that my throttle body cover plate doesn’t say Tuned Port Injection. Is this common on the 92’s? Someone asked about this on the Van Nuys Plant page....

Re: 1992 Z28 vs Irocs

I’m a little partial to the 92 Z’s, but I’ve always liked the entire Thirdgen car series of Z28’s and IROC’s. Buy what you like and “never” buy these cars as an investment.

Re: IROC-Z vs Trans am GTA

When Ste. Therese closed, there was also an agreement with CAW that when/if the Camaro came back, it would be built in Canada. That’s why the Gen 5 was built in Ontario.

Re: Value (rarity) of 1LE Package...

The cars also need to have 10’s or hundreds of miles, not thousands of miles. The true collectors want little to no miles on them.

Re: Value (rarity) of 1LE Package...

The Pontiacs don’t seem to command the attention that Chevy’s do. If similar cars are for sale, the Camaros typically bring more money than the Firebirds.

Re: 57 mile 1990 1LE on BaT

I wouldn’t disagree with your assessment. I just think it’s difficult to fake a car that shows 100, 200, 300 miles, but it would be much easier for a car that claims to have 10,000, 20,000 miles....

Re: Van Nuys Plant - 30 Years Ago

That would be strange that the first car built would be a Z28. Usually they start production with base model cars and ramp up from there.

Roush bought SLP in 2013. I agree that all the people and products are probably gone.
