That's pretty much what I figured out except all I did was pull the bulbs from the 194 tail sockets and tucked them up behind the housing.

Do I need to worry about those 194 sockets not being...

I had drums too. Upgraded to Ed's LS1 fronts and later swapped out the rear for a better gear and PBR's.
