5.0 & 5.7 engine- standard #PS228.

You may already know you will need a intake manifold to fit the vortec style heads. A tbi off a 454 truck may work for a 406, ask in the tbi forum. It has been done before I think. The thumper cam...

Maybe a band clamp. Depending on space, size of pipes, condition of cat pipe. So you cut off flange. Cut off cat pipe with a few inches to clamp on. The butt joint band clamp is what I am thinking...

Y pipe. I bolted it all up. Positioned all pipes to have best clearances. Tack welded it. Removed the tacked assembly. Welded it completely. Cleaned it for paint... painted it with high temp....

I found a used one on eBay. just needed the spring retainer part. To replace the broken one.

Yes you can use a electric choke if you have the right type of carb, Find the carb # it's on the right side. Look it up it easy to find what it is .

I all so am replacing both fuel lines, tank to pump and pump to tank/return. Routing these line is still in out under consideration of minimal heat transfer to them.

I like the idea of using the pusher pump. Thought is, it keeps the fuel moving from the tank to mech. pump {up front} back to tank. This helps the fuel to not heat and turn in to a vapor in the line....
