Re: quadrajet

You should answer many questions, for good advise.
Why are you doing this?
What year carb. is it?
What year car do you have?, and has it been modified?
Let's start with these. Many here have the knowledge you seek. We all need the facts.

Do you need to worry about emissions?

No, other than rebuilding the carb, it's a Qjet, you'll be fine. You'll need to remove the ECM from the car, change the distributor to a vacuum advance and unhook the knock sensor, EGR, etc to get it to work right.

leave the ECM installed though, it'll still run your fan.,

Re: quadrajet

Yes you can use a electric choke if you have the right type of carb, Find the carb # it's on the right side. Look it up it easy to find what it is .

Re: quadrajet

Congrats. Just make sure armature is set right on the mechanism itself. There are a few threads on here that talk about it, just give it a "search".

Might even be able to use the harness that's in their for choke power.

Re: quadrajet

you take the carb apart and see if all the jets and needle and seat are free and working properly before you put it on?

Re: quadrajet

Did you rebuild the carb before installing it or just throw it on?

no telling what kind of gunk is in it.
