Yep... The other one goes to operate the EGR valve... That thing mounted next to the distributor the tubes connect to is the EGR solenoid switch....

I had the same problem... Yep... A 2x4 and a heavy hammer... Get it down so it does not interfere anymore... If you work it well... It's not really noticeable....

For anyone wondering.... The key is to unscrew the steel fitting from the intake using a crows foot wrench... Look it up...I broke off the brass fitting in the steel fitting... I was able to get it...

For my 9 bolt, I had a whine that I thought was the transmission.... That I had just rebuilt... But when I ran the car on jackstands, it was the rear end.... And my 9 bolt needed a proper rebuild ....

I had a similar issue on the quadrajet on my 69... Fuel spillover to primary bores causes the mixture to get super rich and the car dies... It can be high fuel level, bad gasket, or warped air horn...

Yep... You got it right... but there are 3 screws... one at the front, one at the rear, one under the trunk rubber at the front of the trunk opening.

I believe popping out the intake is a lean condition... So it's not getting enough fuel when cold... Is it a ninth injector setup?...

Do you have the lower air dam in place beneath the car... All cars will run hot without it... It pushed air up into the radiator.

Since I don't see anyone else talking about it... Take a look at the ICM... My 88 IROC had an issue with bad misfire in this same range when under light load .. changed ICM... Totally disappeared!......
