Seeking carb help: E4ME out of a 1984 camaro
Well folks, I’ve used this forum for a ton of information so far, but tonight I made it to the point of having to make an account looking for help. I am a first timer working on carbs, or vehicles for that matter. I’ve been rebuilding a Rochester Quadrajet E4ME #17084201 out of a 1984 Camaro z28. The car was my father’s, it sat in storage for 16 years, and he gave it to me a couple years ago. I grew up in it, lots of fond memories, and I’m hoping to get it running how it should be. I know I
should be paying a professional to do this stuff, but spending restoration money isn’t in the cards right now. I made it a lot further than I expected without having to seek guidance, but now I need the experts. I’m down to the last couple pieces, and I can’t for the life of me figure out where one final spring goes. I’m attaching 2 photos, 1 is of the spring and a screw, the second is where I know the screw goes, and believe where the spring is supposed to go. I’m hopeful someone in here can tell me where to hook this thing so I can get the carb back in the car and *hopefully* get it running right.

Thank you for the response. I see where the spring goes across in your photo, but still can’t quite figure out how it’s supposed to sit in there. Is the spring in between the 2 parts that go on that pin and the screw goes threw the hole hole in the spring?
