E4ME Rebuild services?

Recently picked up an '86 Trans Am for my son and am starting to go through it in hopes of having it ready for when he gets his license. The car appears to have sat for an extended period as the entire engine bay smelled of old gas. We've already drained the old fuel and purchased a new fuel pump since we suspected the old one had a blown diaphragm. As far as I can tell it has to original carb (no. 17086004), so we would like to have it rebuilt and calibrated/tuned. I would give it a go myself, but free time is a bit scarce here recently. With that in mind, I was hoping you all could provide some suggestions on places to reach out to. So far, the three I most often see referenced are:

Sean Murphy Induction (SMI)
Cliff Ruggles...but it looks as though he does parts only now.
Quadrajet Power (website currently mentions an 18 week turnaround time)

I'm in the mid-Atlantic so I was curious if anyone could recommend a rebuilder on the East Coast to save a little on $hipping? I've also seen mention of Everyday Performance and Mountain Man Fuel Systems. Anyone have experience with them or others?

My gut says to just go with SMI, but since I'm not in a huge rush I figured I would go ahead and ask for recommendations.

Thanks!

Welcome to antique cars in general. The tri-5 guys, for example, go through the same s***. If you wanna "enjoy" a hobby butt instead of actually DOING stuff, and instead pay somebody else to do all the work FOR YOU like the Vette guys do, better get used to it.

There are a couple guys around here with older muscle cars that have had MountainMan do their stuff. They show up to the cruise-ins so I guess they run ok.

Re: E4ME Rebuild services?

My side business Roc'in Carbs provides parts and does stock rebuilds.... I have helped a few here .. rebuilt the carb in my 85 and 69....now I help people with quadrajets...have hundred of parts... Also see on eBay under Rockall...

I have a few carbs from an 85 for parts in the shop right now...I also have a listing under engine parts for sale in the classified section.... Buy, sell, rebuild only quadrajets...

Re: E4ME Rebuild services?

I found a place that does a-jet parts and service. There aren’t local to you but have a website and a YouTube channel. On page 3 of the carb forum here I posted some info they sent me with a part I purchased from them. Might be worth a look if you haven’t done anything with your carb yet.
