Re: Need Belt setup and part # please

Re: Tire rubbing?

There's no way the axle being off center is related to the carrier or axle internals. Something is funky with the pan hard bar. Take a look at that. Is the car @ stock ride height or lowered?

Re: 1987 Formula Differential Change

You will know when you pull the cover. Makes it hard to buy supplies in advance, but you could always buy the additive & return it if you don't have limited slip.

Re: 84 z28 transmission doesn't match 350

Just found this tidbit of info on the internet

Have the shop measure the outer diameter of the flywheel, if it's 11"...

Re: 84 z28 transmission doesn't match 350

Sounds like it may be a large SBC flywheel? There are 2 flywheel sizes & the T5 bell housing only works with the smaller one if I recall correctly. If this is indeed your issue you'll need.

Re: S10 T5, same as an F body T5?

4.3 is the little brother to the 350... so you'd need to do the same thing as if you were mating the V6 trans to a V8, custom clutch, V8 bellhousing, etc.

Re: Is limited slip additive necessary?

Depends on what type of LSD you have. Any clutch type LSD will need the additive, like the Auburns that would've come in the factory POSI cars. Torsen LSDs that came in later cars (99-02) don't...

Gears should be reused unless damaged, but any good rebuild kit will include synchronizers, since they're a ware item much like brake pads.

You can delete the AIR system, but it won't gain you much. Biggest restriction on that motor stock is the exhaust system, but you'll be limited by the heads pretty quick after you do an exhaust.
