Re: Vortec vs Promaxx vs AFR enforcer vs Jegs aluminum

Well I gathered the Sniper, Hyperspark, and some assorted odds and ends and took it to the shop. I would have loved to do all of it myself but I simply don’t have the space, time, tools, and...

Re: Vortec vs Promaxx vs AFR enforcer vs Jegs aluminum

Good to know, thanks again! How tall was the spacer you had on the RPM? I’m worried about hood clearance but would be nice to get a phenolic spacer to keep some heat away from the EFI unit.

Re: Vortec vs Promaxx vs AFR enforcer vs Jegs aluminum

Thanks for the info 89GTA, I know LS heads have larger intake runners but didn't figure that was an apples to apples comparison with a SBC. The 195 vs 185 was more of a preference I suppose, that's...

Damn, I had heard they were crack prone but that's crazy. I guess I might have to revisit the Jegs heads if that is true and one or both are cracked. Anyone else have the same experience with...

Thank you for the info midias! I was a bit skeptical that the ports would match but that definitely does help. I'm now kinda leaning more towards keeping the Vortecs, even if one has to be...

Vortec vs Promaxx vs AFR enforcer vs Jegs aluminum

I need some opinions on the aforementioned cylinder head options. I believe I have either a blown head gasket or a cracked head in my Camaro (exhaust gasses in cooling system) and am considering...

Re: Coolant bubbling into reservoir

Not great news, I got the tester and set it up in the radiator. After running the engine for a few minutes the indicator fluid looked like it was starting to turn from blue to green when I shut off...

Re: Coolant bubbling into reservoir

OK spoke too soon. I believe you were right LiquidBlue that the cap not being secure allowed any air to be pushed out the cap instead of into the overflow. After driving it more (with the cap...

I drove it more and longer today than I had in the recent past. I do know that this cap fits more securely than the previous one, which is part of why I wanted to replace it.

OK more good advice, thank you. I’ll not touch it and drive, check, drive, check and see what happens. Guess it was a good idea to replace the replacement radiator cap LOL. 🤞

Thank you, what I did was similar. Had the cap off and ran it until the coolant started pouring out a bit. I’ll try locating a coolant pressure tester and see what happens. Appreciate the reply!

Re: Manifold vs ported vacuum advance in theory

Ok so if I set it up this way then I'd in theory have:

30* at WOT (12* initial + 18* mechanical + 0* vacuum)
46* at part throttle (12*...
