My suggestion would be the same I took installing the 400 Pontiac in mine. Get an adapter plater to bolt a 700r4 to. Bolt it all together. Set transmission mount in the stock place using stock drive...

Years ago I had a friend that put a big block Chevy in one of these things. Talk about a tight fit. Was like a high compression 427 with a solid cam. Wish I knew where that thing went!

Yes the pouch itself is in nice shape, no rips or anything. The black bands don’t quite have the elasticity I imagine they once had but they are all in tact. Map light fits snug, no moving around....
