One thing i noticed is centerforce may use a generic bearing that looks identical to other brands; as many brands. It is indicated by comparing the stamped multidigit model number in various photos....

Find the frame rail (boxed heavy sheet metal) to the left of the transmission, assuming left front wheel. Get to it from behind left front tire.

Also, Chock a rear wheel front and back of it.

More info on the early style 140 parts catalog version for Camaro. Needs an early lens because reset is at 10 o’clock. Needle style matches ‘82-84 gauges.

My recollection is all parts can go in the door ahead of glass. Leave that front assembly loose. I would expect GM designed it to allow glass replacement with the...

Probably not too helpful but did find these; after tracks went back in but before glass added and riveted. Does appear the front track is not in yet.

The metal etch is phosphoric acid. Helps to give the surface bite for paint. Also converts iron oxide via the phosphorus, turning it black and reducing spread of rust.

It should be washed off...

Ok. Good information. Will check if AIR is involved. Start there. Also check for vacuum leak. Easy enough to change O2 sensor at some point too. Thank you.

1984 L69 MC Dwell at 6 Degrees

Rebuilt carb by one of Cliff Ruggles former employees. Runs and drives well. Drinks fuel.


Have never been able to get the dwell set. Hangs at 6 degrees in closed loop. I've tried idle air...

I’ve seen enough ‘84s to note that remaining stock of early wheels spilled into the ‘84 model year. But the significant majority of ‘84 are the two line wheels.

Unless you are racing against a clock or track position, rubber bushings are the appropriate choice. Harsher (more performance) ride can be obtained later with tires, struts and springs as needed.

I would guess a Berlinetta bushing to be the same as a Z28 and IROC from the factory. The differences were in springs, swaybars, shocks, struts, swaybar end link bushings, and tire sidewall height.

I think you can. Make sure you have the correct o-rings on hand because I don’t believe are readily available in general o-ring kits.
