It's only original once is not always true. Keep the factory radiator and fans put away, add the new bolt in upgrades, then their is really no harm.

look for rust first thing ... if it is not rusted to crap under it, you are good ... if i remember right, only way to get a z28 in 89 was if it was an iroc also ... sounds like it is a mid range iroc...

to center it, if you do not have clips, take some single strand 12 gauge wire and wrap it where the clips would go ... the clips/wire should not be there to take any stress, just to line it up ... or...

the caps do not go all the way to the outside of the yoke, so the yoke should be wider than the joint ... or at least it looks like the old one did not go all the way to the ends anyway

if it is shut off, can you get it to go into a gear? you may have to rock it a bit to get it in ... if so it is not the trans ... if not, good chance it is more bad news ... but from the sounds of...

i think there is a relay or switch inside the drivers kick panel too ... still think the most common thing will be the starter is bad ... if you can get under the car you can jump the starter ......

it sounds like the lock-up is not working ... you may be able to make it lock with the right volts to the right wires, but i couldnt tell you what the specs are for that

ok, good luck ... if that is the trouble, just use a pipe and hammer to knock all the stuff out to get you going ... then replace later if you want to ... or cut it off and put a pipe in its place

cant give much help till you find out pressure ... but while you are just throwing cash at it, change the fuel filter ... and while you are getting one of those rent the fuel pressure tester from...

the oil pressure switch is part of the system, make sure that is hooked up ... i know everyone says you need a regulator, but when i did my tbi to carb swap i just used a filter with a 2nd outlet and...

before you take off the starter, check for power to the purple wire going down to the starter while the key is turned to start (not run). before you do that, try moving the shifter around if it is...

also, while you have someone there that can turn the key for you, check the wire that goes to the starter solenoid ... it should be purple if i remember correctly ... or it is in my 87 gta i think...

have you unhooked the cable(s) to be sure it is in the throttle body its self? if not start there ... if so take it apart and clean or rebuild it ... is it tpi or tbi?

yep, check fuel pressure, but first open the gas cap, and have someone turn the key to run while you have an ear to the open filler tube, if you dont hear the pump prime, i would start checking for...

wow, i didnt even know you could get a tbi gta ... but if it shoots to 260 right when you start it, it sounds like a bad sensor or a grounded sensor wire
