I had a problem similar to yours on my old 2.8 fiero and my balancer had slipped making it impossible to time right. Also make sure it's 10* on the compression stroke and not exhaust stroke.

Just look around Ebay for a NOS sensor. I went through 4 of the auto parts store crap sensors they sell till I found one on ebay. It was for a firebird but I just cut off the elbow for the air filter...

I'm running the stock tire size right now. The only mods I've done to the car is the cam and valve springs and everything to match the cam. I'll just have to keep an eye on it.

Anytime you swap out a cam with higher than stock lift you should always buy a set of springs to match and keepers/retainers. I almost went with this cam but decided to go with the melling mtc-5 cam...

A 700r4 built to work with a 2.8/3.1 will not work with a v8. You can use the transmission out of a 4.3 v6 because they do have the same bell housing as a v8.
