I noticed that too. The display should be green, not orange. I think orange came in the '85 Delco units. I'll look more closely at the pictures when I'm not on ny phone...

I had an '84 L69 with 3.73s and a 5-speed. I want to say I never cracked more than 20 MPG on a good tank. Seems like I was closer to 16-18 MPG with a lot of in-town driving. The 3.73 were a hoot...

Thanks. Looking closer at the book, it looks like the Firebird spoilers may have used a gasket between the stands and the decklid.

What you described is what I think my car had -- the nut flange...
