I have previously gotten into political debates on FB with owner, he's auto journalist. I had no idea he also had a company which rented cars to the movie industry. That Beretta Indy Pace car in the showroom looked MINT!

Or you could just do them one at a time. (Personally, I'm not hoping for a repeat)

Re: 3rd gens and other '80's and '90's cars destroyed in fire
I live not far from there.
I bought my new 2000 Silverado from there when it was a Chevrolet dealership.
Collier Chevrolet was a great dealer and broke my heart when it closed during GM consolidation.
I had a bunch of work done on my 1990 IROC done there.
Hate the the Chevy dealer closet to me now and bought a Toyota because of it

I notice that the gas filler lids are missing on the three in last post. Are they made of plastic?. Terrible shame.

This was a film set and should have had all the protocols that go with it.
Where was the security that had to be there 24/7 with all the expensive equipment and rental cars.
Everything there was insured including the building and cars by HBO
The security company is in deep ****

This El Camino might be saved.

Sad to see this. Good nobody was hurt. I assume security should have been there 24x7. Looks like it spread fast. I feel bad for the owners of those cars. Big loss.

Back in early 90's I had a 1990 Beretta GTZ. quad 4 HO, manual. Wasn't my all time favorite car, but boy it could catch people sleeping. Had some pretty good zip in the higher RPM's. Quite surprising first time I drove it.

Re: 3rd gens and other '80's and '90's cars destroyed in fire
Huge bummer the thirdgens got burned, the Beretta is the real tragedy of the story. There just aren't any of those around anymore. Also unfortunate that more Corvettes didn't burn up, the world could use a few less C4s....

Re: 3rd gens and other '80's and '90's cars destroyed in fire
I had room mates who both had black GTZs. They would scoot, and were a little bot larger, more comfortable than a compact. A nice sized car. Shame this Indy pace car replica was lost.

I agree.. Beretta GTZ was pretty slick.. cousin to the Grand Prix GTP, right? Always liked those..

Re: 3rd gens and other '80's and '90's cars destroyed in fire
Nah, the Beretta/Corsica were smaller, kind of like a bastard Cavalier. But let's be honest, all of the front wheel drive GM garbage from the mid-80s to the mid 2000s is largely to blame for the vast number of imports you see around, and the general conception that GM vehicles are trash. All those Grand Ams, Grand Prixs, Luminas, Monte Carlos, Cavaliers, on down the line were pure garbage of the highest order. Not that Ford or Dodge/p/c were doing any better, but there were gazillions of those FWD GM hoopties on the road, and you don't see any of them anymore. Cash for Clunkers took a bunch of them out of circulation, but really they were just garbage cars. Hit 100k miles and dig a trench, roll it in, and cover it up.

No, the GP was a W body, same as Olds Cutlass, Buick Regal, and Chevy Lumina. The Beretta and Corsica were L bodies, and unique to Chevrolet. The other divisions got N cars instead.

Re: 3rd gens and other '80's and '90's cars destroyed in fire
Very sad.. I can really empathize. It reminds me of a scare I had years ago when my GTA was still fairly new.
I had it at the dealership getting some work done. They couldn't finish it so I had to leave it overnight. After supper I turned on the TV and started watching the 6:00 news.. The headline was "Big fire at the Pontiac dealership" (Same one I left my car at). I felt sick to my stomach.
Fortunately the fire was at one end of the building and my car was at another. I didn't even have any smoke damage..
