Interesting...mine had 2 lines on the drivers side rail under the master cylinder to connect to. They had some rubber hoses connected to them that went to more steel lines in front of the motor.

Yes, running a non computer distributor, I thought it might possibly be a spark issue, but have ruled that out.

Have you checked the fluid level in your diff? sounds like its either low on fluid or too much play in the gears - likely not pre-loaded properly on install, pretty common cause.
