Reason for my concern is i'm noticing a supercharger whine sound, and seems to be getting louder lately, and this whine sound goes away when TC lockup.

yes i think this is when i'm noticing lock around 31mph, my gears are 3:27... so this sounds normal to you then?

I tried to do the brake test on the 2012 kia soul, and evidentally the TC lockup works differently on it cuz rpm's didn't rise when i applied the brake.

i'm not real knowledgable about swapping rear ends, so it might be better to do that. in my case i wanted to keep the 3:27 gear and not mess with speedometer gear corrections etc.

I am having a similar issue but little worse, when its cold it shifts from 1-2 at near 4000 rpms, and then after awhile of driving it'll start to shift earlier. Yeah I guess I let the car sit too...

we replaced a bad spark plug wire on 5.7 tpi rear passenger side #8 cylinder i think. we had to go under the car to connect it to the engine. its the one farthest back near exhaust passenger side....

ahh. if u get a chance testdrive the new one and let me know your thoughts.
i havent driven one yet but in 2013 they upped the hp up to 274hp up from 210 previously and the 3.8 increased about 50hp...
