With the rear out, went ahead and upgraded the entire fuel system. Went with the aeromotive in-tank unit. Never really liked that holley black setup and how it ran close to the headers always...

Car felt weird so I got underneath it to adjust the weight jacks. Glad I did. One of the welds failed on the rear end....

Went all in on the patina look in March. Guy that runs Vice Grip Garage makes something called "Shine Juice" and added it to the car. Results...

If anyone wants to know the weight difference between a 9" and the 10 bolt, here ya go.
It's not 100% apples to apples, as the 9" was dry, but it's a decent comparison...

Ordered up a QP 9". 3.70 Gears. Helical Posi. 35 Spline. Disc Brakes with parking brake cables. Wallet hurt to order that one but got it the first week of July this year....

New trans shifts much firmer and lets me rev it out to 7k no issue. Had fun driving a month or so, and finally decided to bite the bullet and throw some real cash down.

Matt Walter has a setup to get the bare minimum of what you need to put a 5.3 in your T/A, but even past that is a decent amount of work to get the car on the road.

I'm not sure if it's your intention but you're helping me make my point. LG4s are slow. If you put a ton of time effort and money into them they can be made nearly as fast as a modern base spec civic.

Also check the rear end ratio. Mine was (heck still is) a 2.73. Low power + highway gears = sluggish.

Motor had maybe 170hp brand new in 86. Mine was a total dog as well. Best way to make an LG4 car fast is to yank the motor and drop in an LS.

I wouldn't try it with the headers installed.
Bellhousing and clutch are a good idea.
Start from the side of the car, get the engine halfway in, and pivot around to the front.

Yep sure were. The tips sit a bit higher, so it helps tuck everything up in better. The part that I don't like is the middle of the car (behind the X) droops pretty low. Won't be able to lower this...

Mounted everything up with the supplied hangers. Only one that really needs adjustment is on the driver side tip. Hangs lower than the passenger for whatever reason.

As much as I'd love to believe that, I did have to tweak the idle quite a bit after the install, which leads me to believe it caused some restriction. Like I said above, absolutely worth it.

Local law is the only reason I put it up. Now that the car is driveable that's not really a problem....

Local metal supply failed me. Ordered new pipe from summit. Should be able to get it all mocked up Friday.

That triple gauge pillar was a PITA to get the dash pad on, but I got that installed yesterday. Gauges tested out and work!

BigBrakeUpgrade makes upgrading the front brakes trivial.
18" Wheel options are pretty nice.

Pillar gauges are mocked up. More or less installed. AFR and Vac and hooked in....
