I can tell you that the last shop I worked at stopped using moog completely due to early ball joint failures. I even experienced it in a personal truck of mine. I would bet whatever issue they had...

This happens with everything. I’d be pissed that they feel they can do it without even changing the box.

it happens with tools too. My coworkers pay big money for Matco, you can get the same tool...

You could also look at Autobahn base coat. I didn’t use summit base, I used Autobahn. Autobahn paint is produced very close to my home so it’s easy for me to grab it and it’s “cheap”

I’ve used chemical stripper (aircraft) on plastic parts with no problems. I also used a heat gun and a razor blade to remove paint on my plastic bumper. I mainly did this so I didn’t dust up my shop....

Primer amount is really hard to say. Hell even paint amount is hard to say, different brands will cover better or worse and have different mix ratios. I can tell you...

Long time since update. Still need to paint rear bumper, spoiler, gfx etc. As always the color doesn’t really show, but I did change the paint to GM victory red.

Wheels look great. When I was younger I preferred the older Iroc wheels but for whatever reason these have become my favorites. I would love to have the 17” replicas eventually.

My factory hinges were worn on the rivets. I had lots of slop. But, these cars are made cheap and everything’s flimsy, what you’re seeing could be normal.

Oh yeah I was using surfacer. I’ve always sealed with epoxy then apply surfacer within the top coat window.

I think what you said about dusting/light coats of epoxy over filler is definitely key....

Thanks man. Yep it was epoxy, that’s the only time I’ve had that happen. The only thing I did out of the ordinary was use a glazing putty instead of my regular filler, and I might have used reducer...

I have 3 front bumpers. My factory bumper has way too much of this spiderweb cracking. It was in the bumper it’s self, not paint.

A little more progress..removed the driver (black) fender. Had lots of little surface rust areas. I removed the rust, epoxied, and applied a rubberized undercoating.

Whoever painted those louvers white has terrible taste...they shoulda went lime green or purple.
