124a fits like a glove ... which is why the 140 doesn't fit ... it's bigger and has 4 flat sides ... let me see if this fits my 6.5TD ... might up for a 140 bracket setup and put this on my chumpbird...

here's what I know now .......

the caprice 140 amp LT1 alt DOES NOT FIT THIS BRACKET WITHOUT GRINDING !!!!

this bracket is for 1991 caprice police or taxi .. 120 amp ...

so I just ordered...

the back and side braces are flat steel and I'm sure have to move ... I can add material to move them up ... but your bracket should solve it ... mine looks like it's clocked the same ... don't have...

that's about what I figured ... the back brace is probably wrong ... but I got a welder :) the alt itself looks exactly like a 1988 TPI one ...

any idea if this will fit a 6.5 diesel ? my RV just blew the new alt that's on it .... I assume this will allow me to get AWAY FROM that crappy alt that dies when the voltage goes below 11 volts ???...

you'll need a custom drive shaft too ......

believe it or not ... EVERYTHING is different on a stock 82-83.5 setup ..... the old 72-81 T-10's don't fit correctly ....

yep ... when I had those rings made , I offered them up and got nothing but feedback from people that don't run up front and drive slow on the street ! so ... my pair of rings are the only ones in...

hubs ... one shows the old S10 ring ... other shows the custom one off tone ring ....

spindles .... big brakes 12.9" vette kit with S10 backing plate all hacked up ... I had to weld the plate to...

if you do the math .. you'll see that -overdrive- transmissions don't work on a race track ... 1st and "topgear" are just too far apart ... we have a "S ratio" T-10 ... lighter and stronger ... and...

3 channel ABS ... no traction control ... 2000 should be a zexel toreson LSD ... judging by the black grease on the center ..I'd assume the pinion seal is leaking ... which...

you've got A LOT of home work to do ....

this stuff only works with the T10 that came in a 1982-1983.5

you'd be better off with an older T10 or muncie ...i.e. they are shorter !
