Blew mine up twice behind the 305. (admittedly, I abused it, banging second gear daily)
When I put the 350 crate motor in, I upgraded to a TKO and never had another transmission problem.

Aeroquip makes the metric o-ring adapters in steel, also steel AN fittings for use with teflon-lined high pressure steel braided tubing.
These are recommended for the high pressure side of power...

There's a 1" thick adapter plate (that gets the trans vertical)
