you best have an engine making well over 500 real hp at the crank around or above 6500 rpms otherwise waste of time and energy putting them on. assuming a sbc. many tests have been done on 400 hp...

Well if you had it running then swapped springs and won't start now maybe lash to tight hanging open valves cause backfire and no start, try setting lash at 1/2 turn.

Before the budget built 355 sbc, I built a 305 sbc cheaper yet, around the 250 dollar mark. that got my son to 15.2 @ 93 mph.

Took a stock 305 tore it down...

thru the middle and looked at the "centering of the spring plates" for which the springs ride, as far as the eye can tell...
