Re: Differences Between LG4 and L69?

That makes sense. 1/4 mi performance is hugely influenced by gearing, torque converter, and traction ;) . With stock gearing / TC, you don't get much payback on those engine mods.

Re: Differences Between LG4 and L69?

What are your intentions/goals for the car? A certain 1/4 mile number? You can get some decent performance from that mill..... See my sig: high 14's on motor; low 13's on the juice :)

Re: 355 Vortec LT4 Hot Cam Engine Build - With Dyno Results

Better for a daily driver to install it at a 106-107 ICL rather than the "dot-to-dot" 109 ICL.
That cam was created by GM for stock series road racing and it made slightly more top end power by...

Re: How restrictive are L98 manifolds?

Since you have the Flowtechs and y-pipe already, I'd certainly use them.
You'll have trouble touching 12's with a manual, and probably never do it with 3.08's.
3.73's would be great for that car. ...

Re: Need Torque Converter Advice

Yep, that was damn good.
Gearing gives you good gains only when your engine is hamstrung by a tight converter.

~3000 stall and 2.70'ish gears would get you the numbers at the strip, but would drive like crap on the street.
Complementing a higher stall converter with steeper gears, you won't get that "soggy"...

That's because Comp wants to sell camshafts to EVERYONE, even those who fail to understand the need to upgrade complementary parts to realize the performance gain. It's simply marketing.

It's probably not so much the mass of the roller lifter as it is the more aggressive valve motion that the roller lifter permits over that of a flat tappet lifter.
