trans shift slow around corners!!

trans shift excellent when going straight and when I keep my rpms up in a turn. but the few times there down a turn, when I accelerate i get no power to the few a second or two. during that time I can here a winding noise. it doesn't bang shift violently either. it jus stall for a sec then goes. radiator and all lines are new. fluid level checks good warm. tranny is 4l60e.
is this normal. or how can I fix it? any help I appreciated. thanks

Re: trans shift slow around corners!!

For a 4L60E with a standard capacity (car) pan, that's a common behavior. The fix is to run the deeper truck pan WITH the extended neck filter for the deep pan. Get a pan and filter for a 1998 C1500 Silverado. In the meantime run at least an extra half quart above the full mark when hot.

my 4l60e is out of a 2011 Silverado 1500. is that pan any different?

Re: trans shift slow around corners!!

Sorry, I made the assumption that you had a 4L60E from a Gen1/Gen2 passenger car application.
I don't know what type of pan the 2011 uses, or if there is even an option for a deeper pan. 4L60E's in earlier generation trucks came with the deeper pan.
See how that extra quart works out. If it doesn't start leaking from the pan gasket or shift shaft, then you're set.

Re: trans shift slow around corners!!

This can happen when the filter pickup becomes uncovered. Add a quart of oil, and this should solve it. If this does fix it. then make a new "full mark" on the dip stick. The 700R4 can use this quart of oil without any problems in most cases.

yea. the extra quart helped a lot. but now it shifts a little too hard. lol. but that's most likely from the tune set firm shift. thanks for the help
