Had this horrible problem as well. I just got mine fixed, found out my rear intake manifold gasket had blown out a quarter inch wide. I was pulling vacumn from that.

I am also going to order some plug boot heat shields or whatever to put on the wires where they are near the headers. They sometimes tend to touch and could be arching or something.

Say it wasn't that stripped. You might even just need a new crush washer. Mine leaked once from the plastic crush washer being cracked..... probably not the issue...but you never know.

I have no clue, I do know the original stuff, like the rear drums were probably heavier.... not sure about the front, the new stuff is aluminum instead of iron too...so it may be close.

The drum backing plate was ON THERE. It took me probably 30 minutes atleast on each side to slowly remove the bolt with a breaker bar. From this point on I had pics of all the new stuff and mounting...

The rear was much more work. I pulled the drums off and my buddy actually came over for the rear for a little bit. We ripped out all the old drum guts and he got under the car and took the dif cover...

The kit I installed plugged right into the factory harness. You will have to repin the new harness but only takes a couple seconds. The harness come with relays and everything you need.
