Re: Factory Carpet Color Code

Thank you for that "mass backing" advice! I wasn't exactly sure what that was or if it was worth the extra money. Now I know so I'll be sure to order it that way

Re: Pads too thick?

I bought all the parts at my local auto parts store. They are usually quite reliable. Headed back there today with old pads and rotor plus new pads and see what they say.

Pads too thick?

So I'm putting all new pads, rotors, calipers, and stainless lines on my 1985 IROC. Fronts posed no problems, rears were a bit of a pain getting apart, now I'm trying to put it back together and no...

Re: Adding power door locks

You're correct, I'm the 3rd owner, looking at the RPO list, this car is a customer order not a dealer order. Thank you for the links. I'll do some snooping inside the door and go from there.

I've got a 1985 IROC and the other day I pulled all the wheels off just to clean and polish. Then I noticed a small (1/4 inch) wheel spacer on both sides of the rear axle. Is this a factory thing or...

Re: Piss Poor Pedal

So I actually had all the wheels off the other day just to polish and clean the backsides and I had my step on the brake pedal. No rear brakes to speak of, didn't even act like it wanted to do...

Adding power door locks

Do we know if the 85 IROC'S are pre-wired for power door locks and I just need the switches and actuators?

Re: New calipers on 1985 iroc

Not sure what size my rotors are. I know they're stock and I have no intentions of going larger. I'll go look at rock auto, I've looked there before and got lost in the options they provided. That...

Stock springs and shocks

Does it matter what springs or shocks I choose for my 85 iroc? I say that pretty generic but what I mean, when looking for springs and shocks that are factory ride/handling/height, is there a true...

Piss Poor Pedal

I have a 1985 Iroc running a TPI and 4 wheel disc brakes. While the car stops o.k. it seems like a lousy pedal that travels further than I think it should. I've been told all gen 3's with a TPI have...

LSD or Open Differential

According to my RPO. I'm supposed to have a 3.42 LSD in my 1985 Iroc. However, the guys that work on her said it's an "open" differential. I tried the old jack the axle up routine and spun the...

Re: Incorrect/Optional RPO
