I have had the PCV valve and associated hose off to check previously. PCV valve appears to be free and working - I did also clean it to make sure the flap opened and closed as necessary.

Thanks for the input so far guys - Looks like I need to confirm correct ECM operation first, before going elsewhere. Replacing the ECM may prove troublesome, since they appear to be out of stock in...

This is my first post for technical help, so please be gentle....:)

I have an 89 IROC-Z with bone stock L98 350 TPI motor and was looking for a little guidance.

Just out of interest, when you did your door cards, did you replace the plastic clips, or did you manage to get them off without breaking them?

I have just replaced the headliner and sail panels in mine - had to wait an age for the headliner from the US mind. Door seals next, and hatch pull down motor repair...

Just joined up, having bought an '89 IROC. It's pretty straight and rust free, with the usual cosmetic issues such as shot headliner etc. Drives well and is as quiet as you might expect...
