Re: Some progress at last....

I'll keep the filter in place. No sign of anything but it a good precaution as you say. When the rebuilt original carb goes in, we'll see for sure if anything is there that shouldn't be. Was pretty...

Re: carb identify

I know I'm a bit late here, but isn't the line you've got hooked to the "H" port on the carb supposed to go to a tee junction off the PCV line instead? That's how it reads to me, anyway.

Very...

4Welcome NZ82! Great to see a fellow Kiwi on board!

Can't wait to see the results of your hard work. Good to see it never ended up converted to RHD too.

Re: Need a new 1982 T/A w/CFI evaporative (charcoal) canister

I've been hunting for one for my '84 LG4 - same thing, out of stock. I think they're discontinued.

Maybe one off a different car but same or similar dimensions would work though.

Re: Timing

To try and decrease the fouling I'm getting on the current ones due to the rich condition I seem to have.

It's all stock so may as well run the equivalent stock plug (R45TSX won't clear headers).

I did not touch anything at the distributor as there is no vacuum advance. Are you referring to the ECM connector?

Re: Vapor hose routing/new 3rd gen owner

Thanks heaps guys!:burnout:

I never thought of the possibility of saturation, that would ultimately mean fuel itself leaking from the canister, right? And an awful smell under the hood.
