No it doesnt need to go all in and its normal you still see some thread. As long as no water leaks its fine. Dont force it too much or you could crack the block!! Probably the stock one managed to go...

You can simply get ALDLDroid on your Android phone, connect it via an ALDL to Bluetooth adapter (or wired if it doesnt bother you) and you have access to any stream available in the ALDL protocol.....

I would assume that if I out it instead of the charcoal canister the line length will either be the same or longer than a 2m run. My canister is on the passenger side maybe yours was on the driver...
