Re: Low oil pressure at warm idle mystery
That's sort of a problem, I don't really have any idea just how many miles it's got on there. Nothing seemed too old, and like I said before it miraculously doesn't leak from anywhere. Everything...

Re: Low oil pressure at warm idle mystery
Well, damn. In that case, do you think I should change out the oil and try the rotella again? Or perhaps to change everything up completely and try the castrol? I've never used it before but I've...

Re: Low oil pressure at warm idle mystery
Actually, if anything it's been much cooler this past week. Temps have generally ranged from the low 80's to mid 90's instead of the 110+ it's been all summer. Even on the hottest days with the...

Re: Low oil pressure at warm idle mystery
Absolutely, and that's originally one of the reasons I started using the Rotella a few years ago, with great results. Though it shouldn't matter so much with my current engine, because it has all...

Re: Low oil pressure at warm idle mystery
Thank you for your reply,
And just to clarify, were you posting the proper oil pressure for the stock engine configuration for '86? Mine is definitely swapped, if that makes a difference. I've...

Low oil pressure at warm idle mystery
Hey guys,
Yesterday I did the oil change on my '86, and on the way home from work I noticed that my warm idle oil pressure was only about 7psi!! Naturally, I freaked.
A little background info...

Awesome, thank you guys so much. For some reason I didn't even think of checking Jegs! They have exactly what I need at a price much cheaper than I thought.
Thanks again!

Roll bar for racing harnesses.
Hey guys, just a quick question here. I've got an 86 camaro that I'm slowly making more strip-oriented and I've been looking at getting some racing harnesses. Now, I could just bolt them to the floor...

Re: A major goof - Damage from overheating.
Well, I doubt anyone is following the thread still but I thought I'd go ahead anyway and say that everything is fine, and I was just being an overly-paranoid ***.
Thank you guys for all the great...

Re: A major goof - Damage from overheating.
True, It's just going to be a few days before I can really mess with it (because of work and such) and I wanted to see what everybody thought. I mean, yes it overheated, but it was for such a short...

A major goof - Damage from overheating.
Well guys, my 86 camaro decided to throw both the alternator belt and water pump belt on the way home today. I usually keep an eye on the temp gauge and the motor runs and idles in traffic at a cool...

Aaaaaand that was exactly what happened. Whoever originally put in this distributor made a complete mess of things and it was frigging backwards! Started by connecting the #1 wire to the #6...

Re: Firing order/distributor cap question!

Re: Firing order/distributor cap question!
Also, just as an addendum, I lined up the little white mark on the balancer with the zero on the timing tab, and then had my buddy turn the engine over from there with my finger in the #1 plug hole. ...

Firing order/distributor cap question!
Hey guys,
I come to you with what I hope will be an easily solvable problem. I've got an '86 camaro with a punched out 350 (block was out of a '72 c-10) and an HEI ignition system. A couple days...
