RPO sticker reproduction

Hi all. I just wanted to give a shoutout to Scott Martin. He reproduced a beautiful copy of my obliterated RPO sticker. I had to give him the list of RPOs, VIN, colors, etc. He normally just does...

Has anyone installed a remote fuel pressure regulator?

So I've been fighting an ongoing problem with losing fuel pressure after the fuel pump primes and extended crank times, especially when the engine is cold. I've narrowed it down to an issue with the...

Update on intermittent no-fuel and post-mortem

After a few months, I finally had a chance to follow up on my old and forgotten thread.

Re: Fuel pump circuit issues

Another update. Been driving the car for a few days and once again, it left me stranded. At least it was close to home for a change. My backup power past the C313 connector did not save me, so that...

Ok, update. Finally had a chance to take a look at the car. Checked the ground wire and connection. Clean and good continuity. Car started and ran fine. Wiggled various wires for the fuel pump,...

Re: Fuel pump circuit issues

On the '89, ground is G304 as indicated in the diagram. Power window ground is under the console. No idea on '90+ Haven't had a chance to check it, but I will report back results when I do.

HMMM...that makes sense! I'll wiggle the wires while it's running and see if that changes anything. That's exactly the kind of lead I was looking for. Sounds like it's time for a new sender! I'll...

Re: Fuel pump circuit issues

Yes, C313 was inspected. Pins look good on both sides. No obvious damage or wear.

The ground for the relay is good. I haven't looked at the ground for the pump lately (G304, I beleive). I last...

Fuel pump circuit issues

Ok, this is a weird one. I think I've got an intermittent open fuel pump circuit. Question is, where? Tried to drive my car a few weeks ago, I didn't hear the fuel pump prime, no fuel pressure when I...

Re: Intermittent no-crank. Infamous GM hot-start issue?

At some point I'll have to rig up something at each connection that lights up or makes a sound until I find it. Until then, thanks for being there, momentary.

I've never opened the C100 up. I'm scared to look in there.

Re: Intermittent no-crank. Infamous GM hot-start issue?

That's a great suggestion. Since this issue seldom happens at home, I could rig something up to at least tell me what's happening at the S terminal. Maybe a light or buzzer. Something that will give...

Intermittent no-crank. Infamous GM hot-start issue?

Re: "Lazy" electrical system, looking for suggestions

I built a positive battery cable with 0 gauge cable and a 6 gauge wire for the alternator. To my surprise, it made little difference, but I'm glad it sorted out yours.

Re: "Lazy" electrical system, looking for suggestions

Re: 1986 Trans AM: Let's play guess that wire!

Makes sense. The plug has a jumper in it. I'm thinking there's a problem with the range sensor and the previous owner didn't address the issue.

Thanks!
