After some more testing I was able to rule out a couple of things to the point that I was "pretty sure" of the problem. Not wanting to get my hands dirty on this...

update:
No change / still not starting after changing both the ICM and coil. I'm very much at a loss now. Any other ideas as to what could have gone wrong after washing the car?

Took the dist cap off and it was bone dry (as expected). Visually looks ok, as do the wires. Wire brushed and reassembled but still no luck.

Before the wash, the car was running...

I'd stay away from Goof-Off and instead use 3M-Adhesive remover. It's what Griots Garage in Tacoma sells and recommends because it won't damage paint or clearcoat.

Today's Junkyard Find

Not sure what it is... It was in the cargo area of a Camaro. It's made of the same materials as a t-top storage bag.... Maybe 16" or so long.

I couldn't wait until the weekend...

I removed the factory clip from the original speakers, then attached them to the wiring of the new speakers. Bolted in, connected the wires... Easy peasy.

Thanks guys... I used the diagrams and verified with the battery trick. I was able to install the factory clips to the new speakers and will be putting it back together this coming weekend.

Alrighty, so I'm installing new speakers in the front dash. Can anyone say for sure which wire is positive and which is negative? Both wires to the speakers are very light... one is gray-ish and...

replacement glass ttops are readily available at junk-yards and cost about $40/set or less. If it's not in your budget right now, it's probably worth saving up for them.

I found a decent one with an unbroken hinge... light gray/no carpet. It also has the metal retainer piece if you need it but postage costs might be less without it.

I haven't weighed it yet, but...

AR9 isn't a paint code... it's more of a description.
You'll likely have to just give them a piece of plastic trim and have them mix/match the dye to that.

I've done this a few times for other cars. Clean the plastic well, then use SEM's plastic prep, then spray the custom mixed dye. If you don't have your own spray gun, get yourself a 'Preval Model...

Maybe this is the problem... maybe you just moved gunk around and it got somewhere that it shouldn't. Take the rods/jets out and clean (extra easy on the Edelbrock), clean everything again, then...

I doubt anything went wrong with the carb while it was disconnected.

Things to check:
Vacuum hose is properly connected
Manual choke is set properly
Fuel is getting to the carb
