So I was on my way home from work. Saw a nice looking thirdgen and wanted to chat. (Round Rock/Hutto area) This guy had some mods, exhaust, wheels (looked like Z06's in chrome) and springs at least... Anyway, he decided I was trying to race him I guess because he took off and guess what? My daily driver ended up pulling from 3-4 cars back to passing at only 4th. I let off and he kept in it going on to the on ramp. (It's a 2 into 1 lane merge)... So I caught back up trying to chat again... and not surprised he got beat..(I beat my buddies L98 91 TA a few times in this car) and the retard hits his brakes!! Seriously?? You act like your a bad *** only to get pulled by someone in a cheap DAILY DRIVER and then act butt hurt really says it all.

PS. If you read this, your modded IROC got pulled by a bone stock (paper air filter and ALL!) 2006 Eclipse GT. Back to the drawing board for you dude. lol - Nice chat.

My 03 2.4 ltr 4 cylinder Eclipse makes 150 hp, I think the GT's are 200ish, so yeah, they can pull a 3rd gen probably.

The 06 GT runs low-mid 14's stock, so yeah he can pull mostly stock 3rd gens.

Yeah sorry for the rant I posted, sounds kind of braggish but all I wanted to do was talk to the guy. It sucks the IROC got beat. I wish he would have pulled me like a loose tooth! Just another slow IROC with a driver who thinks he's fast IMO which is the LAST thing these cars need. Anyway, the Eclipse has the 6g75 3.8L with 263hp/260tq. It's also 6 speed and they should run 14.2-14.5 stock according to all the 4th gen Eclipse junkies at Club4G. I have no interest in taking it to the track.

Ever since I installed a lt4 hotcam with longtube headers, the V8 crowd acts like they're scared of me. I'll get the import people pulling up asking, "what the heck do you got in there?" In the end, no one wants to race me

Like others have said maybe they wanted to just get away from you, They have no clue who you are or what you wanted. I'm happy with the performace of my car so i don't go out racing "everyone". I always get chevy pickup trucks, tahoe's, escalades, and other trucks taking off next to me like they thought I was going to race them. On the highway a month ago, some ***** with an old hot rodded land cruiser wouldn't let me pass him when I was driving normally. I guess the truck people don't feel secure enough with their big vehicles until they're quicker than a car that's supposed to be quick.

For the record, it's not just sports cars. I get the same thing with my 150k mile Grand Cherokee that is lucky to pull a good hill at 70. People are just @zzholes. No such thing as a courteous driver these days.

Weird I hardly ever have an issue with people trying to race me weather I am in my toyota, thirdgen or on any of my bikes. I would suspect it is an issues with a lose nut behind the wheel.

I hope you're not implying me. I actually am a courteous driver. I let people out of parking lots when I see them stuck there from heavy traffic. I won't block someone from getting in my lane just to be at my destination 3 seconds sooner. I drive reasonable and defensively. Racing is out of the question with a 3 ton 6 cyl over-glorified station wagon. Maybe I'm growing old, maybe I'm just growing up.

So I took my white iroc out the other night. You'll never believe what happened...

I was driving along and all of a sudden I get a call from guy who ordered the pizza I was delivering. Said I had 5 minutes or it was free. Well I stepped on it to beat the other car to the merge. Then I realized I almost passed the house so I slammed on the brakes to make the turn. I think the guy in this Eclipse was trying to steal the pizza!!
