As a temporary fix, I would either disconnect the battery again, or unplug the pull-down motor to pop it back open. Once you have better access to the assembly, you'll see 3 screws holding the motor...

The motor and housing came in for mine but I haven't had a chance to mess w with it yet. In the meantime I unbolted it and pushed the whole motor and assembly down on the track so that it closes...
