The damage is external caused by me.They are going on hard,maybe too hard.I may have the wrong seal.This is my first sbc install,I have mostly done Pontiacs and big and small Fords and they didn't go...

This hydraulic roller tappet is used on the 350 ZZ3 & ZZ4 engines.
The duration at lash point in degrees (intake/exhaust) is 275/280
Duration at .050" tappet lift (intake/exhaust) is 208/221...

I was just going to run a stock roller with a set of vortecs,it's for my old truck.The two front cylinders were full of water any way,pretty crusty."Free" never works out for me;-)

I was prepared for the drilling,but I wasn't sure that the clearance for the retainer was there
I was thinking that the last one I saw had a flat surface machined above the lifter...
